Interior Design

Apart from designing and creating the building’s external fabric, we can also provide an Interior Design service. Our Interior work has included the design of bespoke furniture tailored to our Client’s specific needs, design of internal finishes, fittings and selections of materials and fabrics.

Jersey Archive

We provided a complete Interior Design service that included the design and detailing of bespoke furniture made especially for the project to suit specific needs.

The Reading Room table, which is made out of oak with a grey metalwork frame, was designed for up to 20 readers. Down the middle of the desk we incorporated a glass screen on which a design, by artist Louise Lusby-Taylor, using an artefact from the Archive, was etched. We designed and procured other specialist furniture for the Reception, Finding Aids area, Conservation suite, Resources area and the Archivist’s Office.

Materials and finishes throughout the internal areas were specially selected to harmonise with the external and internal theme. All the furniture was detailed to provide specific operational and dimensional requirements, and co-ordinated with the overall building. We arranged for the complete package to be procured and oversaw the installation, effectively providing a ‘turnkey’ service.

Intersport Heroes

For this retail development we worked with a specialist Sports shop-fitter on the design and installation of the fit-out package. Our particular role was to design a purpose-made staircase connecting the two retailing floors. We also designed floor and ceiling finishes, selected light fittings, and co- ordinated them with the overall design.

The stair was conceived to be as open as possible, allowing a view past to the rear of the retailing floor. Solid ash treads are cantilevered off a central tubular spine spanning between the ground and first floors, giving a light and airy appearance. A mix of wood flooring with slate was chosen to create a central ‘oval’ focus, with a lowered ceiling reflecting the same division.

This approach has created a backdrop that displays the sports wear to maximum effect, resulting in our Client exceeding all sales projections at the new premises.
